Ok so far too much about jail. Far too much about gloom, and doom.
Let's move on. On to something much more important. KINDNESS. Tis the season.
Listen, I KNOW for a fact I have followers, in MANY countries. I can read the stats on my blog. I KNOW for a fact that in the last month I have had 2000+ ppl who read my blog.
I challenge each one of you to provide a random act of kindness, AND share it with a comment.
Let me lead with some examples. Last year around this time..there was a woman, I saw, almost every day. She worked at the store where I bought smokes, on the way to an AA meeting. I know her name, but will not use it. She was in tears this day. It is weird how sometimes, we really don't know someone very well, but are very touched. She told me she was having MAJOR financial issues, that she could not buy Xmas gifts for her grand kids. During the conversation, I got the gender, and age of the kids. I was in a bit of a bad place knowing I would be going to jail soon. I did not have a bunch of cash to share. I was moved. I had a a rebate gift card from Walgreen's, and $20.00 in my pocket.
Although, my children were teens, I tried so hard to figure out what a 5,7,and 9 year old would like.
It was so amazing! I went right back to the store after Walgreen's. I brought 3 gifts. It was so odd, so cool. The things I chose, were "perfect" for every child. I was for sure guided by something greater than me, by God.
The grandma, that worked at the store cried, she called me an "angel". I was not an angel, I just did the right thing.
That was last Christmas. During this past summer, I happened to be shopping at Aldi. Clearly, the woman in front of me was having a child's b-day party. Clearly, she was short on cash. She was going to purchase a kids pool, Ya know the cool inflatable kind with a slide. She did not have enough money. I told the cashier to add it to my bill, she cried.
The point is not to make people cry. The point is if you CAN help, then please do.
It does not mean money. Maybe a gift of time. Maybe babysit for a young mom in you neighborhood. Maybe spend an hour visiting with the elderly. Shovel a sidewalk.
Just GIVE. Give what you can, money, time, concern.
Just so ya know, I am sure that I did not give to help another...not necessarily..I have to admit, it made me feel GREAT. Maybe random acts of kindness, are not for others, maybe they are for ourselves.
No matter the reason, I think we all win.
If you have not shared this blog with other's please do so now.
By this time you should have someone in mind who you will help...please pass it on!!!!

well I just got back from doing laundry and helped an older woman with her laundry and help her start it....I still do random acts of kindness...
Great!!! So cool! It really is.
the elderly really enjoy visits. I just completed my clinical s at a local nursing home. They are wonderful people that just need to know someone cares.
They really do. I have so noticed that working in the hospital...Especially when they are in their 80's or 90's. Sadly, most of those they held close are no longer here. No one likes to see me come into thier room...that means they get stuck with a needle. I do have a plan on finding the most crazy xmas hat I can, and wear it all next week. Even if it goes against all of my fashion sense.
just got off the phone with an elderly woman, I try to check in on once and awhile...and she was so happy that I checked in on her with this bitter cold weather,,,it made her night..I'm so glad I could do it for her...even if it was to call and chat it meant alot to her....
Love to hear them!!! Keep them up!!! Would love to hear many more.
helped our elderly neighbor from her house to her car with all this snow and ice so she would not fall..she was so sweet...it was like I gave her a million bucks on how she appreciated it..love helping others...
helped an older couple with there groceries today..It's nice to help others....
When I stopped at a gas station today to fill up. As I was pumping the gas, I looked up at the sign to see how much gas was. It was 2.93/gal. Just after I had noticed the price, I noticed on the pump just beside me that a college age kid was scrounging for change. Under the floor mats etc. I know that he was not just looking for something, because everytime he picked something up he put it in his pocket. I was sure I saw him count it. I always pay at the pump, but I wanted a cup of coffee today so I had decided to pay inside. I told the cashier, to include $25.00 of gas for the pump next to mine.
I was buying a christmas tree, and I saw a family that was shopping for a tree too. I over heard them talking. It seemed they really could not afford any tree in the lot. I gave the tree guy $50.00 and told him to sell them a tree. I don't know their reaction, because I just drove away. I hope he gave them a great tree.
Well I like to help out my neighbors in the real world, like even if they dont even say help I just go over to there home and maybe rake the leaves or mow the lawn, just out of my kind hearted person I am.....
I am a firm believer in karma and like to "pay it forward". Doing some xmas shopping the other day and an elderly lady was trying to buy a gift for her grandson and couldnt get her credit card to work. The clerk was getting annoyed and I could see the elderly lady getting frastrated and embarassed. I interupted and told the clerk to ring her items up with my purchases. They were both in awe...now she and her grandson can enjoy xmas. So simple but so huge!
OH THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!
